Next Step

The most important step in your life is the next one.

This truth will change how you see your present in relationship to your past and your future. We see this principle lived out in Acts 9:1-19 in the story of the conversion of Saul. Saul was a man that hated and persecuted Christians. Saul (who later was renamed Paul) had a bright and real encounter with Jesus one day. It blinded him and put him in a place to wait up on The Lord for what was next. Ananias was a faithful and righteous man. He was told to by The Lord to go and help Saul. At first he questioned these instructions but he trusted God and obeyed. Both of these men had to face what was next in their life and take their next step. Yet one man came from a place of obedience and righteousness and the other came from a place of rebellion and disobedience in his life. Yet they both had to make a decision to take the next step.

The Principle: You are only one step away from change.
If you are living in righteousness today, you are only one step away from rebellion.
If you are living in rebellion today, you are only one step away from righteousness.
If you are living in loneliness today, you are only one step away from community.
If you are living in community today, you are only one step away from loneliness.
If you are living physically unhealthy today, you are only one step away from a healthy lifestyle.
If you are living in addiction today, you are only one step away from a life of freedom.

Granted that next step will have others to follow that carry out that reality, but it all begins with your next step.

So consider your next step wisely...its the most important step of your life.
